Amy Aines is a communication strategist, trainer, and coach, who builds career success skills for researchers and early career scientists.

A former telecommunications industry executive, Amy is the author of a “how to” book Championing Science – Communicating Your Ideas to Decision Makers that teaches essential communication, relationship-building, and influence skills. Since 1999 she has served as CEO of a communications consulting firm that she founded after a 20-year industry career. Her counsel on choosing words to get results has fueled the success of hundreds of scientists at more than 50 companies in telecommunications, wireless, high-tech, biotech, and healthcare.

Amy honed her expertise directing corporate and public policy communications and serving as a spokesperson for a $10B company. She has managed every imaginable communications function, partnering with experts to inform publics, inspire employees, build brands, navigate change, influence policy, and introduce innovations that have made the world safer and healthier.

Since 2019, Amy has been teaching Championing Science principles through workshops and seminars at places including NASA, JPL, the Department of Energy RECS Program, National Postdoc Association, the University of Virginia, Northeastern Network Science Institute, UCLA, Princeton, Stanford, and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
